Another Day

Icicles
Slowly dripping from the roof
Decay
Is everywhere one looks
Snow
Melting into the ground.

Lost
Nevermore to be found
Family
Walking out never ask
Me
Anything. They turn their backs.

Pain
In my heart and head
Remain
Even though they said
Community
Is the key to survival.

Forgotten
No one even cares
Sadness
Rips me and brings tears
Dripping
into my decay.

musings from a far off observer

A slight movement of the finger
Now lives are changed forever
300 hurt, and five dead
When will this madness end?

Sit and wait
Be patient into the late
Night.
Revolution
Or peace will come with
Morning light.

Bodies found on the outskirts
Of town: stripped and strewn
Unidentified, unknown, useless
No more can they fight

Governors sitting in comfort
Peasants shivering in cold snow
Police defending their own by

Attacking the fake innocence

Living in routine
I ignore the beauty
Walk past the trees without a hello
I drive past the beggar with a scowl and judgment
Singing the same rhythm-less song.

Living in routine
going from day to day
In the business I turn a deaf ear
To the song of Creation that you play on repeat;
To the most rhythmic song of all.

Ran

I left you for dead, kicked you out of my head
Moved on with my life, finally let you go
You went willingly, the whole time thinking of me
You knew how this story would end

I ran so far away, after I promised to stay
But when life got in the way, I ran.

They say different things as they sit in their swings,
Phrases like “three times is the charm”
How could I know then, how right they have been?
When I left you in my doubt.

I knew it would get better, I couldn’t leave it at that

So when you came back, I ran… to you.

Lazy Rainy Day

To the general public, rainy days are boring inside days. However, rainy days represent perfection being found, a cleansing from the mundane, a change from the usual, and a renewing of the earth. They are perfect for spending the day by a window contemplating literature, growth, God, and life while listening to a naturally calming soundtrack.
Though rainy days are fantastic due to the excuse for laziness, this weather is also thoroughly enjoyable for it encourages anti-socialness. It forces people to stay home, which can lead to spending extra time with the Creator, the one who re-creates all. It pushes people to just sit back in silence, taking in the majestic artwork found in the smallest details of life and knowing that He is God. It allows people to think deeply, to slow down and tell him about that one time which was never confessed.
Such days are symbolic of the continuous unending, overbearing and powerful love he has for mankind, the earth, and everything he sculpted when he created the universe. The love that consistently re-creates due to his creations being selfish, thoughtless, and wrong. This reminder is why lazy rainy days by the window with a cup of hot tea, a book and a journal are the best days of the year.
